How to Footbrake on a Longboard

When riding your board on the road, it is very important to know how to footbrake in case you need to slow down your speed immediately. Sometime you will need this skill to avoid falling, crashing or burning as some things passing across your way suddenly.

01 – This skill is suitable for not only longboard but also other skateboards. Mastering it and you can be safer on your streets.

02 – Change your feet position as your front foot facing forward. Your above body should also be turned to face to the nose of your desk also.

03 – Keep your back led straight when changing your weight to your front foot slowly. Move your back led out of the desk and lower it to the land lightly.

04 – Remember to keep your body balance by your front foot.

05 – Apply a little bit pressure by your back foot to the ground at first. Use your bottom of your shoe, do not use this skill when your foot is nude. Then apply more pressure slowly until the speed is slow down enough as you want. [Read more…]

How To Frontside Ollie

For beginner, fontside Ollie trick is the next move to practice after Ollie. This is the second step to go on the way of mastering difficult tricks of a skateboarder. It’s basic, but not easy for beginner, so that, remember to be perfect your Ollie move first, then try it. This would be easier for you when performing frontside Ollie trick.

It is needed to distinguish between frontside Ollie and backside Ollie. Frontside Ollie is a little bit easier thanbackside Ollie when you try to turn your board and yourself also to front. So, master this move, then you can try next backside Ollie. Be careful to avoid falling down. Good luck guy.

How To Backside Ollie

After mastering Ollie trick, then frontside Ollie, you should try to practice this trick also: Backside Ollie. It does not mean that you change the direction of riding but you have to turn your skateboard and your body 180 degrees in the air then continuously ride away. This move is more difficult to handle than the Ollie and frontside Ollie, so that, start slowly the fundamental steps.

Remember what will you do first, than try to make it come true by poping clearly and smoothly.

01 – Ride with a normal speed. Keep your body, your feet as you are starting to Ollie.

02 – Bend your knee, prepare your shoulders and body to make a turn of 180 degrees. Twist your body. Keep balance.

03 – Imaging the trick in your mind, crouch your body, prepare for the Ollie move.

04 – Start popping, try to focus on the move of lifting yourself up to the air then turning half round to the backside.

05 – Use all your body, especially your arms and shoulders to make the rotation. Try to perform the move as smooth as possible.

06 – When starting to get off the floor, the tail of your skateboard would hit the ground, lift up your front foot first then popping into the air all yourself and your skateboard. You will have only a second for rotating so try to concentrate as much as possible. [Read more…]

How To Rock Fakie

After you can perform dropping and pumping, you should try this trick – ROCK FAKIE as a next foundation skill to be a skateboard master. Doing rock fakie is to pause yourselves on a moment before ride down to slide to the opposite side of the skatepark bowl. Remember to keep yourselves in balance and your wheels up on the coping.
